A Travellin’ Tale for Geotourist: Free Tours for Curious Travellers!

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working with the very cool people at Geotourist to create walking tours for some of my favourite cities around the world, and I’m happy to say that they are now available to find on the Geotourist app! The best thing? It’s completely free to download and listen to tours – making it friendly for budget travellers who (like me!) can’t always afford the expensive guidebook or paid-for physical tour.

But it’s not just your run-of-the-mill see this/do that type of guide – these are unique audio tours created by both travellers and residents who really know these cities. There are historical spots that you won’t find just by looking on TripAdvisor. There are restaurants and food carts (and doughnut shops!) that come highly and personally recommended. There are intriguing tales and stories that you can listen to as you discover the location through your own eyes.

Naples Italy

Find my History and Art Walking Trail of Naples, Italy on Geotourist now…and it’s free!

I absolutely love this app, and I’m so excited to have created two tours – A History and Art Walking Trail of Naples, Italy and A Weird and Wonderful Walking Trail of Portland, Oregon – already, with a third (hint, it’s another of my favourite Italian cities…and it’s all about food!) coming very soon. I love the idea that, not only knowledge and travel tips but also the history, stories and tales of a place can be passed on to other travellers – without them having to spend a penny!

Rimsky-Korsakoffee House

Portland’s most Weird and Wonderful sights – including Rimsky-Korsakoffee House

Along with my tours (which you can easily find by searching for A Travellin Tale once you have downloaded the Geotourist app), there are incredible city trails to discover throughout the world. From Stirling in Scotland to Athens in Greece, Savannah in the USA to Sydney in Australia – there is a whole host of cities just waiting to be explored…and there are more great, free tours being added all the time. You can also make your own profile, add your favourite tours and even create your own walks and trails to share with others.

It’s the perfect companion app for travellers who want to save money…and experience something a little different!

Note: This is not one of those sponsored posts…but I am working with Geotourist…which makes this a small tale of self-promotion! I truly rate the app…and would love it if you guys took the time to check it out! As always, feel free to leave any comments or questions below!

Any thoughts?
